David Luiz has heaped praise on the philosophy new Chelsea FC boss Maurizio Sarri’s has brought to the club since arriving in the summer.

After finishing out of the Champions League places last season under former boss Antonio Conte, Sarri was brought in to restore Chelsea FC in Europe’s elite.

Sarri’s positive style of play was key to the decision to bring him in, and Luiz has said his side are relishing the change.

“I believe in this philosophy, and then after that he is a great coach,” Luiz said in an interview on the Chelsea FC website.

“He wants to play with the ball, he wants to play with intensity, to work on the details and to give us all the information he can about the next game and the opponent.

“Every week he tries to make the best plan possible for the exact game and this is great because he is working in the best way for the team, for the collective.”

Sarri joined from Napoli this summer, replacing Antonio Conte who won the league with the Blues in 2016-17.

Last season, Sarri’s Napoli provided Juventus with their toughest challenge to win the league in the last seven years.

Despite not being able to snatch the Scudetto, Sarri earned his move to London and brought his Napoli playmaker Jorginho with him.

The £50m man embodies Sarri’s coaching philosophy as he plays with great intensity and springs his side on the counter attack with unnerving accuracy.

Sarri’s side have taken maximum points in the league this season and have exceeded many people’s expectations after Chelsea FC’s abject campaign last season.

Luiz and his teammates have embraced their new coaches’ ideals and the shackles at Stamford Bridge are well and truly off.
