Paul Merson believes that Chelsea FC should set up with two holding midfielders in the form of Jorginho and N’Golo Kante under Maurizio Sarri in the big games.

Jorginho has been getting used to life at Stamford Bridge after having signed for the west London side from Napoli in the summer transfer window.

The midfielder has been deployed in a deeper role by Sarri and Kante has been moved slightly forward by the new Chelsea FC boss.

However, former Arsenal star Merson feels that the Chelsea FC back four are not strong enough to be fully trusted, and he believes that both players should feature in a deeper role against the big teams.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Merson said: “In the big games, he [Sarri] has to play Kante next to Jorginho.

“I don’t trust the back four in the big games. They both have to sit in there.”

Chelsea FC are looking to be one of the main challengers for the Premier League title this season.

The Blues finished in fifth place and won the FA Cup last term under Antonio Conte before he was sacked and replaced by Sarri back in July.

The west London side will now switch their attentions back towards Europa League affairs and their home clash against Videoton on Thursday night at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea FC are aiming to break back into the top four at the very least this season after they finished fifth last term.
