Mateo Kovacic has openly admitted that he needs to work on his form in front of goal for Chelsea FC.

The Croatia midfielder is currently adapting to life at Stamford Bridge after having arrived at the club from Real Madrid on loan for the season back in the summer transfer window.

Kovacic will be hoping to help Chelsea FC to enjoy a successful first season under new manager Maurizio Sarri as the Blues look to try and challenge for the Premier League title this term.

The west London side brought in Sarri as the club’s new manager after opting to part company with Antonio Conte back in July.

Kovacic is aiming to be a regular player in the first team for the Blues, but he admits that he is focused on improving his form in front of goal after only having scored eight goals for club and country in the last three seasons.

Speaking in an interview quoted by Metro, Kovacic said: “That is the problem in my career, I have not scored enough – and it’s something I need to improve on.”

Chelsea FC will now turn their focus to League Cup affairs and their third-round trip to Liverpool FC at Anfield on Wednesday night.

The Blues will then prepare to host Liverpool FC at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League next Saturday evening.
