Azpilicueta has earned a reputation as one of world football’s top defenders since his move to the west London club back in the summer of 2012.
The 29-year-old Spain international has been a regular fixture in the Chelsea FC team for the last few seasons and he has played a key role in helping the Blues to win the Premier League title in both 2015 and 2017.
The defender earned huge amounts of praise as he played every single minute of Chelsea FC’s title-winning campaign under Antonio Conte back in 2016-17.
Now, Loftus-Cheek has revealed that Azpilicueta is putting his experience to good use by being a positive influence in the dressing room – even when things are not going well.
Asked who is good at lifting morale after a defeat, Loftus-Cheek told Chelsea FC’s website: “Cesar Azpilicueta always has something positive to say in the dressing room, whether we’ve won or lost.
“After a defeat he will tell us to keep our chins up and move on to the next game, so that’s always good.”
Meanwhile, Chelsea FC will look to make it five wins on the spin in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon when they host Cardiff City at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues have made a strong start to the new campaign under Maurizio Sarri following his appointment back in July.
