Pat Nevin: What Cesc Fabregas will be thinking about Chelsea FC start
Pat Nevin says Cesc Fabregas will have been "inspired" by what he has seen from Chelsea FC this season
Pat Nevin believes that Cesc Fabregas will have been “inspired” by what he has seen from Chelsea FC under Maurizio Sarri this season.
The Spanish midfielder is yet to make an appearance for the Blues so far this term due to an injury but he will be hoping to force his way back into contention for selection after the international break.
Chelsea FC have made a solid start to life under their new manager Sarri after he was confirmed as the club’s successor to Antonio Conte back in July.
The west London side have won all four of their opening four Premier League games to establish themselves as joint leaders for the title this term.
Chelsea FC have also been implementing an exciting, attacking style of play at Stamford Bridge this season under new boss Sarri.
And despite Fabregas still waiting to make his first appearance of the campaign due to a knee injury, Nevin feels that the Blues midfielder will be encouraged by what he has seen so far.
Speaking in an interview with Chelsea FC’s website, Nevin said: “Even if you are not actually playing it [the style under Sarri] can be inspiring.
“I can just imagine Cesc Fabregas sitting watching all of this as he comes back from injury and thinking, ‘this is a style that could have been specifically designed for me and my skill set’.”
Chelsea FC will return to Premier League action after the international break when the Blues take on Cardiff City at Stamford Bridge.
