The England midfielder is settling into life back at Stamford Bridge after having spent last season on loan to Crystal Palace.
It had been thought that the 22-year-old could be sent out on loan again this season to continue getting some regular first-team football.
However, new Chelsea FC manager Maurizio Sarri has decided to keep hold of the midfielder for the time being at least.
Christensen and Loftus-Cheek have known each other for more than seven years since their respective arrivals at Chelsea FC.
And the England international has revealed that he usually sits next to the Danish defender on the Chelsea FC team bus for away games.
Asked who he sits with on away trips, Loftus-Cheek told Chelsea FC’s website: “I sit with Andreas Christensen because we’ve known each other for a long time.
“He normally watches a series, but I’m not watching anything in particular at the moment so I just play some games on my phone or listen to music.”
Meanwhile, Chelsea FC will return to Premier League action this weekend when they host Cardiff City at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues have made a strong start to the new campaign, winning all four of their first four Premier League games under new boss Sarri.
Sarri was brought in as Antonio Conte’s successor back in July after the Blues ended up fifth and won the FA Cup last season.
