Maurizio Sarri has revealed that Chelsea FC are hoping to have Pedro Rodriguez back in action by the end of the week after he missed Sunday’s draw at West Ham United due to injury.

The Spanish forward picked up a shoulder injury during Chelsea FC’s 1-0 win over PAOK in Greece in the Europa League last week and he was forced to sit out Sunday’s goalless draw at the London Stadium.

The Blues were without the attacker as they dropped points for the first time in the Premier League this season to leave Liverpool FC as the leaders at the top of the table.

Chelsea FC are next in League Cup action when they take on Liverpool FC at Anfield in their third round clash on Wednesday night.

Pedro is not likely to be fit for that game, but Sarri is hoping that the Spaniard will be back available for selection when Chelsea FC welcome Liverpool FC to Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

Speaking at his post-match news conference on Sunday, Sarri said: “Pedro for us is very important, because he is the best player we have with movement without the ball.

“We are trying to have him back for the end of the week, but I don’t know at the moment.”

Chelsea FC are aiming to at least break back into the top four this season after the Blues finished in fifth place and won the FA Cup under Antonio Conte last term.
