Michael Owen is backing Chelsea FC to continue their strong start to the Premier League season by beating Cardiff City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.

The Blues have made a brilliant start to the new campaign under Maurizio Sarri following his appointment as the club’s new manager back in July.

Chelsea FC have won all four of their opening four Premier League games under their new boss to leave them joint top of the table heading into this weekend’s round of fixtures.

The west London side are now preparing to host Cardiff City at Stamford Bridge this weekend as they bid to try and continue their fine start to the new campaign.

And former Liverpool FC striker Owen is tipping Chelsea FC to claim all three points in a high-scoring game on Saturday afternoon in west London.

Writing in his column for Bet Victor, Owen said: “Chelsea’s perfect start to the season is likely to be maintained on Saturday against a Cardiff side without a win in six in all competitions.

“The Bluebirds did well to reach the top-flight, but the truth is they look set for a quick return and it is likely to be a long afternoon for Neil Warnock’s side at the Bridge.”

Chelsea FC are looking to at least break back into the top four this season after the Blues ended up in fifth place in the Premier League last term under Antonio Conte.

The west London side won the FA Cup lat term under Conte before he was sacked and replaced by Sarri back in July.
