Chris Sutton insists that Paul Pogba is the most vital part of Manchester United’s current set-up.

Pogba has been ever-present for Jose Mourinho’s men at the start of the new season, most recently starring in a 1-1 draw against Wolves at Old Trafford.

The Frenchman was once again Man United’s standout performer, building on his match-winning display against Young Boys in the Champions League last Wednesday.

Manchester United are already eight points off the pace in the Premier League after an indifferent start and have been criticised across the media for their lack of drive in attacking areas and naivety in defence.

Mourinho himself has come under intense position over his position as manager, and Sutton has insisted that the Portuguese boss must keep hold of Pogba for the foreseeable future.

Sutton told BBC Radio 5 Live: “Pogba is Man United’s most important player. He has been and he will be. Man United have to hold onto him.”

The World Cup-winning midfielder will likely feature in the starting XI again for the team on Saturday against West Ham United in the Premier League.

Mourinho’s side must look to win three points at the Olympic Stadium to bounce back from their disappointing draw against Wolves at the weekend and re-affirm their status as contenders for silverware this season.

Pogba is undoubtedly one of the most gifted players in world football and his continued presence in the middle of the park will be crucial if Man United are to turn things around in the coming weeks.
