Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright believes that Unai Emery’s team still have a lot of room for improvement after beating Cardiff on Sunday – and says it’s time for Lucas Torreira to start.

Goals from Shkodran Mustafi, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexander Lacazette ensured that Arsenal FC left Wales with three points over the weekend, despite an inept defensive display.

Emery’s men twice allowed Cardiff FC back into the game as Victor Camarasa and Danny Ward found the net for the home side, amid confusion and disorganisation amongst the Arsenal FC back four.

Club legend Ian Wright took to Twitter to give his verdict on the match and on the team’s progress in the season so far, insisting that there is still a lot of work to be done before they are the finished article.

He tweeted after the game: “3 points. Laca’s goals and movement great, but still totally disorganised in a few areas. Time for Torreira to start. Lots to work on but let’s keep it moving.”

New signing Torreira had to make do with a twenty-minute cameo against Cardiff FC but his presence certainly seemed to sure up the midfield for Arsenal and help shield the defence for the final part of the game.

Supporters will hope that the Uruguay international can become a regular starter after the international break and that Laczette and Aubameyang continue to find the back of the next consistently to help the team move up the league table.
