Michael Owen makes Champions League claim about Liverpool FC
The Liverpool FC legend believes the Reds are genuine contenders to win the Champions League title

Michael Owen believes Liverpool FC are one of the favourites to win the Champions League this season.
The Reds have made a promising start to the current campaign following six successive victories in all competitions.
Liverpool FC edged to a 3-2 victory over Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain in their opening fixture at Anfield.
Daniel Sturridge and James Milner helped Liverpool FC to ease into a 2-0 lead before PSG levelled with six minutes to go through Kylian Mbappe.
However, substitute Roberto Firmino came off the bench to score an added time winner to secure three points for the Merseyside outfit.
Liverpool FC will make the trip to Naples to take on Serie A runners up Napoli in their next Champions League fixture.
The Reds will face Red Star Belgrade home and away before their reverse fixtures against Napoli and PSG.
Former Liverpool FC striker Owen talked up the chances of the Reds winning the Champions League title this season.
“They are tailor-made for Europe, playing brilliant in the Premier League,” Owen told BT Sport. “I am sure they are going to win a trophy this year.”
Liverpool FC lost 3-1 to La Liga side Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Kiev back in May.
The Reds beat FC Porto, Manchester City and AS Roma to reach their first Champions League showpiece since 2007.
