‘Fancy’ Sadio Mane credited with inspiring Liverpool FC victory
Garth Crooks praises Sadio Mane for his solid display in Liverpool FC's 2-1 win over Leicester City
Sadio Mane was at the heart of Liverpool FC’s attacking moves in their 2-1 win over Leicester at the weekend, according to Garth Crooks.
Mane has earned plenty of new admirers since his move to Liverpool FC from Southampton back in 2016 and he has been a regular and consistent performer in the first team under Jurgen Klopp.
The Senegal international was once again in fine form on Saturday lunchtime as he helped to inspire Klopp’s men to their fourth Premier League victory in a row to leave them top of the table heading into the international break.
Mane has netted four goals in four Premier League appearances so far this season, and he netted to help the Reds claim victory at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.
And Crooks felt that the 26-year-old deserved a special mention for the impressive role he played in helping Liverpool FC claim the three points this weekend.
Writing in his column for BBC Sport, Crooks said: “At the heart of Liverpool’s fancy manoeuvres against Leicester was Mane.
“To be fair to the Senegal international, he was last season, but Mo Salah had such an unbelievable campaign that Mane’s attributes were often overlooked.”
Liverpool FC will look to make it five wins in a row in the Premier League when the Reds take on Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley after the international break.
