David Luiz has warned his Chelsea FC team-mates that they will have to be at their best if they want to beat Liverpool FC in their forthcoming double header against the Reds.

The Blues are first preparing to travel to Anfield in the third round of the League Cup on Wednesday night, before they welcome Liverpool FC to Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

Liverpool FC have been in fine form so far this season and they sealed an impressive 3-0 win over Southampton on Saturday to maintain their 100 per cent start to the campaign and keep their place at the top of the table.

Chelsea FC, meanwhile, dropped their first Premier League points of the season on Sunday when they slipped to a disappointing goalless draw against West Ham United at the London Stadium.

And David Luiz has warned his team mates about the threat posed by the “fantastic” Liverpool FC ahead of their first clash on Wednesday night.

Speaking in an interview with Chelsea FC’s website, David Luiz said: “The best games are games like that.

“We are going to play against a fantastic team [Liverpool FC] so we need to rest and be ready for both games.”

Chelsea FC will be aiming to break back into the top four at the very least this season after they finished in fifth place and won the FA Cup last term under Antonio Conte.
