Jordan Henderson has warned Liverpool FC that they are in for a stern test of their League Cup credentials when they host Chelsea FC in the third round on Wednesday night.

The Reds are preparing to welcome the Blues to Anfield on Wednesday night as they go head to head with Maurizio Sarri’s team for the first time this season.

Chelsea FC and Liverpool FC have been the Premier League’s top performing teams so far this season and they have been earning lots of praise for their impressive performances.

The Reds are preparing to take on Chelsea FC in the first of two meetings in a matter of days, with Liverpool FC set to go to Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

And Henderson admits that the Reds can ill afford to underestimate the threat posed by Chelsea FC in the coming days.

Speaking to Liverpool FC’s website, Henderson said: “We need to keep going, as I keep saying every week.

“There’s another tough test [against Chelsea FC] in midweek in a different competition. We need to just keep going and keep improving.”

Liverpool FC maintained their 100 per cent start to the new season on Saturday when they claimed a 3-0 win over Southampton at Anfield.

The Reds are aiming to challenge for the Premier League title this season as they bid to establish themselves as one of the the main contenders for the title after having finished in fourth place and without a trophy last term.
