Rio Ferdinand raves about ‘fantastic’ Liverpool FC duo
The Man United legend heaps praise on Liverpool FC duo Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold

Rio Ferdinand has heaped praise on Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold for their performances in Liverpool FC’s 3-2 win over Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night.
The Liverpool FC duo have established themselves as Jurgen Klopp’s first-choice full-backs over the past six months or so during the club’s run to the 2018 Champions League final.
Alexander-Arnold and Robertson have made impressive starts to the current campaign to help Liverpool FC keep three clean sheets in their opening five Premier League fixtures.
The Scotland captain was tasked with keeping World Cup winner Kylian Mbappe under wraps in the Champions League opener and for the most part, Robertson managed to tame the France international.
Alexander-Arnold, on the other hand, was afforded plenty of space on the right wing to support Liverpool FC’s attacks as Neymar neglected his defensive duties on his side of the pitch.
While the English teenager had more of a license to attack on Tuesday night, Robertson provided the assist for Daniel Sturridge’s opener when the Scot had a brief reprieve from his defensive duties.
Alexander-Arnold hit the woodwork in the closing moments of the Anfield clash before Roberto Firmino netted his added-time winner.
Former Manchester United star Ferdinand was impressed with Klopp’s full-backs.
“From Liverpool’s perspective the first half was fantastic,” Ferdinand told BT Sport.
“The way they played and used the full-backs Alexander-Arnold and Robertson in the wide areas.
“Especially with the PSG wide players not wanting to or having to defend. They exploited that and both goals came from crosses.”
