Van Dijk was particularly impressive in Liverpool FC’s 2-1 win over title rivals Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley.
Liverpool FC signed Van Dijk in a £75m deal from Southampton in the January transfer window to make him the world’s most expensive defender.
The Reds were 5-0 winners against Deeney and his Watford side at Anfield back in March.
Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live about Van Dijk, Deeney offered an insight into what it is like to play against Van Dijk.
“I hate going up against him,” Deeney said. “He is too big, too strong, too quick and good on the ball. He likes fighting.”
Liverpool FC were 3-2 winners against Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain in their Champions League opener at Anfield earlier this month.
The Reds finished in fourth place in successive Premier League seasons to secure a Champions League spot.
Liverpool FC lost 2-1 to Chelsea FC in the Carabao Cup third round at Anfield last week.
