Pat Nevin is convinced Manchester City will beat Liverpool FC to the Premier League title this term.

The Reds have made an encouraging start to the season following six successive Premier League victories.

However, Liverpool FC have never previously won the Premier League title despite finishing in second place in 2002, 2009 and 2014.

The Merseyside outfit are two points clear of Manchester City and Chelsea FC following six outings in the top flight.

Manchester City won the Premier League crown at a canter last term and finished 25 points ahead of Liverpool FC.

While Nevin has been impressed with Liverpool FC’s displays so far, the Chelsea FC legend ruled out title glory for the Reds this term.

Nevin told Newstalk: “Liverpool have the squad to run Man City close – closer than I thought at the start of the season. [But] I can’t see anyone getting past them in the end.”

Liverpool FC finished in fourth spot in the Premier League table last term to ensure their continued participation in the Champions League.

The Reds signed Fabinho, Naby Keita, Xherdan Shaqiri and Alisson Becker in the summer transfer window.

Liverpool FC have lost in the Champions League, Europa League and the League Cup finals under Jurgen Klopp.
