Garth Crooks pinpoints major Liverpool FC change this season
Garth Crooks believes that Liverpool FC boss Jurgen Klopp has found the perfect balance in his defence this season
BBC Sport pundit Garth Crooks believes that Liverpool FC boss Jurgen Klopp has finally found a winning formula in defence.
Liverpool FC have managed to pick up maximum points in the Premier League so far this season, securing wins against West Ham, Crystal Palace, Brighton and Leicester City.
Klopp’s men have also only conceded just the one goal over the course of those matches, which only occurred after new goalkeeping signing Alisson’s horrendous error at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.
Generally, their new number one has looked solid apart from that and the defence in front of him has been even more impressive.
Virgil Van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Trent Alexander Arnold and Andre Robertson have all produced brilliant performances at the back for the team so far, which has helped propel them to the top of the table.
According to BBC pundit Crooks, Klopp has finally addressed the defensive issues which have plagued the squad over the last few years to emerge as genuine title contenders.
He told BBC Sport: “At last Jurgen Klopp has finally realised what can be achieved with a competent defence to assist their attack. It’s taken him three years to discover that.”
Many experts now believe that Liverpool FC are best placed to wrestle the Premier League away from Champions Manchester City come May, having found a way of winning games they might have drawn in previous seasons.
With Tottenham up next at Wembley after the international break, supporters will hope that the team can maintain their fantastic early season form by securing another vital three points.
