Liverpool have made the perfect start to the new Premier League season, winning 12 points out of 12 by securing victories against West Ham, Crystal Palace, Brighton and Leicester City.
Klopp’s men haven’t been at their free-flowing best going forward so far, but they have seemingly learned how to grind out wins in tough matches, conceding just one goal so far and scoring nine goals in total.
Tottenham are up next for Liverpool at Wembley, which will be the toughest test the team has faced to date in the 2018-19 campaign.
If they can emerge with yet another three points, supporters will start to dream of lifting the title in May and Barnes insists that he couldn’t be happier with the current state of affairs at Anfield.
Barnes said in an interview with the Daily Star: “What’s good now is Liverpool, with the harmony and the fact Klopp’s there and everybody loves him, the trust in him and the way the team’s playing, that’s all I’m interested in.
“I’m not interested in how badly Manchester United are doing, or anybody else. I’m just happy Liverpool are progressing and playing good football, and the harmony and everything is right at Liverpool.”
It remains to be seen whether or not the international break has disrupted the momentum Liverpool had built up, as they bid to quickly make a return to winning ways on Saturday.
Whatever happens, Tottenham v Liverpool promises to be a pulsating battle which should go some way to determining who goes on to genuinely challenge for the Premier League trophy this season.
