The Egypt international was one of European football’s top performing players last season as he helped the Reds to seal a top-four finish in the Premier League and reach the Champions League final.
Salah scored a staggering 44 goals in all competitions last term as he helped the Reds continue to make progress under Klopp.
The 26-year-old was also voted as the PFA player of the year thanks to his brilliant form for the Reds last season in all competitions.
Salah has started this season strongly and will be looking to try and play a key part in helping Liverpool FC to challenge for the Premier League title this season.
And Klopp feels that the stage is set for Salah to up his game and produce improved performances in all competitions this term.
Speaking at a news conference before Liverpool FC’s trip to Leicester, Klopp said: “Mo is a very smart person.
“He’s not thinking about the end of last season, he knows our game here, he knows he had no number in his mind or thought, ‘OK, let me score a new record’.
“It was only ever, ‘Let’s score goals. Let’s play football’.
“And to me he looks like he is exactly in that mood again… only with more confidence, because now he knows it’s possible.”
Liverpool FC will look to establish themselves as one of the main contenders for the title this season.
The Reds will return to Premier League action after the international break when they take on Tottenham at Wembley.
