Jurgen Klopp fires blunt warning at his Liverpool FC squad
Jurgen Klopp tells his Liverpool FC players they have plenty of room for improvement this season
Jurgen Klopp has told his Liverpool FC players that they have plenty of room for improvement as they look to up their game and challenge for the title this season.
The Merseyside outfit are currently top of the table after a strong start to the new campaign, with the Merseyside outfit having won all four of their opening Premier League matches.
Klopp’s side have earned plenty of new admirers in recent months following their entertaining style of play, and the Reds have established themselves as one of the early front-runners in the race for the title.
Liverpool FC will face a tough assessment of their Premier League title credentials after the international break when they take on Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley later this month.
And Klopp has insisted that his players still have plenty of room for improvement as they look to try and establish themselves as one of the main contender for the title.
Speaking in an interview with Liverpool FC’s website, Klopp said: “The players are not at their top level yet. That is because we are in the early part of the season. It is normal.
“Everybody should know we have a lot of work to do still, but if they don’t then I have told them. When you win four times it sounds really crazy to say this, but it is still part of the pre-season for a very long time after the summer.
“From mid-September, we play every three days. So we do the work now, and this is how it is – it is normal that you are not quite at 100 per cent in the games.”
Liverpool FC are still aiming to win their first trophy since Klopp’s appointment back in 2015.
The Reds finished fourth and without a trophy last term as they reached the Champions League final.
