Jan Molby believes that it will take time for Fabinho to get used to life at Liverpool FC following his move to Anfield in the summer.

Fabinho became Liverpool FC’s first signing of the summer at the start of the window when he moved to Anfield from Monaco as Jurgen Klopp moved quickly to bolster his options in midfield.

However, the Brazilian has been made to wait for his first minutes as a Liverpool FC player – and he only made his first start for the Reds last week during the 2-1 League Cup defeat by Chelsea FC at Anfield.

Fabinho will be hoping to prove himself to Klopp at Anfield as he bids to try and establish himself as a regular fixture in the first team at the Merseyside outfit.

However, Liverpool FC legend Molby feels that it may take some time for the 24-year-old to properly settle into life at the Merseyside club.

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Molby said of Fabinho: “The defensive midfielder hasn’t featured so far in the Premier League with Klopp keen to get him used to how his team to play and I went through something similar myself.

“I came to a new league where things, for a while, appeared to be going on around me and I felt like I couldn’t quite get involved.

“But that takes time and only time and games can cure that.

“So it might take time before he we see him at his best and he needs to get into these situations more, but having done what he did with Monaco – and he is a bright footballer too, don’t forget – he will get to grips with it, I’ve no doubts about that.

“At the moment, he is finding it difficult, but having said that he hasn’t played an awful lot either.”

Liverpool FC will now switch their focus back towards Champions League affairs and their crunch clash away at Napoli on Wednesday night in the group stage.

The Reds are aiming to challenge for honours on all fronts this season as they bid to try and lift their first trophy under Klopp.
