Naby Keita believes that the increased competition for places in the Liverpool FC midfield this season is something that can only help the team.

The Guinea international is currently getting used to life at Anfield after completing his move to the Merseyside outfit from RB Leipzig in the summer transfer window.

Keita has been in solid form for Liverpool FC whenever called upon this season, with the 23-year-old having made four appearances for the Reds so far in the Premier League under Jurgen Klopp.

The midfielder knows that he is facing competition for a starting spot at Anfield in midfield this season, with Brazilian Fabinho having also arrived at the club during the summer transfer window.

However, Keita feels that the increased competition for a midfield spot at Anfield is only a positive thing.

Speaking in an interview with Liverpool FC’s website, Keita said: “Competition for places in midfield is something that can only help the team.

“Obviously the coach will go ahead and make his choices and I am sure he will choose the best players at the time for each match as they come along.

“That way, everybody gives their best throughout the season and I think it also gets the best out of everybody.”

Liverpool FC will return to Premier League action this weekend when they take on Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley.

The Reds are currently leading the way at the top of the Premier League table after having won all four of their opening four top-flight games this term.
