The Merseyside outfit maintained their perfect start to the Premier League season following a fifth successive victory at Wembley in Saturday’s early kick-off.
Liverpool FC eased to a 2-1 win against Tottenham thanks to goals from Georginio Wijnaldum and Roberto Firmino to seal three points before Erik Lamela’s late consolation.
The Reds have already racked up victories over West Ham United, Brighton and Hove Albion, Crystal Palace and Leicester City to make a positive start to the season.
Klopp’s side will get their Champions League campaign underway at Anfield on Tuesday night when Ligue 1 holders PSG make the trip to Merseyside.
Speaking at his post-match media conference at Wembley about their Champions League opener following Liverpool FC’s 2-1 win against Tottenham, Klopp said:
“I don’t think Tottenham played bad. That’s why we deserved to win. But it’s over, three points, now we have to go again in three days, we have to recover pretty quickly.
“We play Paris Saint-Germain; they won yesterday without Neymar and Mbappe, so they can obviously rest players in the league. But it’s on Tuesday, not today, so I’m happy with what I saw today.”
Liverpool FC signed Naby Keita, Fabinho, Alisson Becker and Xherdan Shaqiri in the summer transfer window to improve their squad depth ahead of the new season.
Klopp is still waiting to get his hands on his first silverware as Liverpool FC boss following his appointment as Brendan Rodgers’ successor in October 2015.
