The Wales international’s situation at The Emirates has been a source of uncertainty in recent weeks due to the fact that his current contract with the north London side is due to expire at the end of the season.
Ramsey is yet to put pen to paper on a new contract with the Gunners, although he is still believed to be in talks with the north London side about a new deal.
Ramsey’s situation is bound to make the headlines once again as the January transfer window approaches, as that will be the last time that Arsenal could sell the midfielder for a fee.
Now, former Arsenal defender Winterburn has warned the Gunners that the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea FC are likely to try and snap up the midfielder next year if it becomes clear that he won’t sign a new deal at the club.
Speaking in an interview with Sporting Bet, Winterburn said: “With less than a year remaining on his contract, Ramsey is in a very strong negotiating position and is also a very attractive proposition for a lot of big clubs around Europe.
“I’m sure lots of top clubs are monitoring the situation and are ready to poach him.
“I think Manchester United and Chelsea will both battle it out to sign him if they feel he is seriously considering leaving Arsenal.
“I don’t think he could get into the Manchester City and Liverpool teams, but it would hurt Arsenal fans to see another of their superstars leave to a Premier League rival.”
Meanwhile, Arsenal are now preparing to kick off their Europa League campaign under new boss Emery when they take on FC Vorskla on Thursday night.
