The Red Devils signed Dalot in a £17m deal from Portuguese giants FC Porto in the 2018 summer transfer window.
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho recruited the Portuguese teenager after just eight appearances for FC Porto.
The 19-year-old made his full debut for the 20-time English champions against Young Boys in Switzerland on Wednesday night.
Dalot produced an assured performance in Manchester United’s 3-0 victory over Young Boys in the Champions League.
Former Irish defender Cunningham delivered his verdict on Dalot’s debut in Manchester United’s European triumph mid-week.
“There was big talk from Mourinho before the game,” Cunningham told Irish radio station Newstalk.
“He wasn’t perfect but generally speaking for a young boy at this level, he’s been good.”
Manchester United signed Dalot as well as Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred and Stoke City goalkeeper Lee Grant in the summer.
The Red Devils are looking to win the Champions League for the first time since 2008 when Manchester United beat Chelsea FC on penalties.
Jose Mourinho’s side suffered a 2-1 loss to Sevilla in the Champions League round of 16 last term.
