The England star has made a promising start to the current campaign following a difficult few seasons at Old Trafford.
Shaw moved to Manchester United in a £27m deal from Southampton in the 2014 summer transfer window after an impressive two seasons in the Premier League.
The 23-year-old suffered a horrendous double leg break in a 2-1 loss to PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League back in September 2015.
The England defender was sidelined for over 12 months and Shaw struggled to rediscover his best form upon his return to the Manchester United.
Jose Mourinho hasn’t been afraid to criticise Shaw for his performances on the pitch and in training since taking over the reins from Louis van Gaal.
However, Shaw has made a brilliant start to the current campaign with one goal in five appearances in all competitions.
Former Manchester United star Scholes believes Shaw is showing signs of improvement in the opening weeks of the 2018-19 season.
“I especially have thought over the last couple of years he could easily be the best left-back in the world,” Scholes told BT Sport.
“I think the big thing he is getting now is games. He’s had a good run of, what, seven or eight games on the trot without injury.
“He’s a lad who needs fitness, he needs to be playing every week. I think he will improve and hopefully he will have a good season.”
Manchester United will welcome promoted side Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.
The Red Devils are in eighth spot in the Premier League table.
