Jose Mourinho has reiterated that he has a good relationship with Manchester United record signing Paul Pogba.

The Red Devils are in crisis mode at Old Trafford following a difficult start to the current campaign.

Manchester United dropped more points in a 1-1 draw with promoted side Wolverhampton Wanderers at Old Trafford last weekend.

Pogba was critical of their tactics after Manchester United dropped points for the third time in the Premier League season.

The 25-year-old was stripped of the Manchester United vice captaincy ahead of their Carabao Cup clash against Derby County mid-week.

Manchester United suffered a surprise loss to Frank Lampard’s Championship side in the third round of the League Cup.

Mourinho and Pogba was captured on camera having a heated discussion during Manchester United’s training session on Wednesday morning.

However, the Manchester United manager has emphasised that he has a good relationship with Pogba despite reports to the contrary in the British media.

“I think Paul said in one of his appearances in the famous mixed zone and he is exactly correct: it’s a good relationship between player and manager,” Mourinho told his pre-match news conference.

“I cannot tell you [what was said on Wednesday]. The training session was open; you had some cameras with some potential to get some of the words.

“Maybe you have to change that potential if you want to know everything that is said, because I am not going to comment.

“Nobody trained better than Paul on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday – nobody trained better than him. Tomorrow he plays, so end of the story.”

World Cup winner Pogba was signed in an £89m deal from Serie A giants Juventus in the 2016 summer transfer window.

The Red Devils are in seventh place in the Premier League table and eight points behind current leaders Liverpool FC.
