David De Gea has insisted that he is happy at Manchester United and has indicated that he has no plans to quit Old Trafford any time soon.

The Spanish goalkeeper is widely regarded as one of the best shot-stoppers in world football and he has been earning lots of praise for his solid performances in recent seasons.

De Gea initially made a shaky start to life at Old Trafford after having arrived at Manchester United from Atletico Madrid back in the summer of 2011.

However, he has since earned a reputation as one of the top goalkeepers in the world at Manchester United and he has been linked with a move to Real Madrid in the last few years.

The Spanish champions signed Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea FC this summer so a move to Madrid is now looking unlikely for the goalkeeper.

And the shot-stopper has insisted that he is very happy at Manchester United and says he feels loved by the club’s fans.

Speaking at a news conference on Tuesday night, De Gea said: “I feel really loved at this club, by the fans and all the people who work for this club, so I’m really happy to be playing for this club.

“It’s one of the best clubs in the world so, for me, it’s really good to be part of this club.”

Manchester United will now switch their focus back towards Premier League affairs and their home clash against Wolves at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

Jose Mourinho’s men are aiming to string together a series of positive results as they look to try and challenge for the title this season.
