Dalot moved to Old Trafford this summer from FC Porto for £19 million as Jose Mourinho looked to reinforce his defensive line, but he has yet to play at senior level for the club because of injury.
His first appearance in the famous red shirt had to come in an under-23 fixture last week against Stoke City, which reportedly went very well under the watchful eye of Mourinho, who looked on from the stands.
The 19-year-old defender has stated that he is eager to get started with his new club now that he has returned to full fitness and feels ready to contribute to the team.
He told MUTV: “If the manager thinks I’m ready and he wants me to play, I will play, for sure.”
“I’m going to prepare myself for that and as soon as he wants me, I’ll be ready. For sure, I’m going to become a better player here.
“The team have already helped me a lot and I’ve learned a lot in a short space of time from Antonio, Matteo, Ashley and Luke. I’m looking forward to learning more. I think I can get better. We always think we can do better and I have to keep improving.”
Dalot has a good chance of being included in the squad for Man United’s next game against Watford and supporters will hope that he can help the team pick up another vital three points as the new season continues.
