Dalot has been settling into life at Old Trafford this season after having signed for the Red Devils from FC Porto back in the summer transfer window.
The 19-year-old full-back has been made to wait to make his Manchester United debut due to a niggling knee injury, but he successfully completed the 90 minutes as the Red Devils claimed a 3-0 win in Switzerland on Wednesday night.
Dalot will now be hoping to stake his claim for a regular spot in the first team at Old Trafford in the coming weeks and months as he bids to help Jose Mourinho’s men to challenge for major honours.
And former Manchester United midfielder Fletcher has clearly been impressed by what he has seen from the young Portuguese full-back so far.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Fletcher said: “I watched Diogo Dalot play against Stoke City under-23s and he was great, as he was tonight.
“Antonio Valencia is not a natural right back, and if they can dovetail this season it could bode well.”
Manchester United will return to Premier League action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Wolves at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils are looking to make it three wins in a row in the Premier League as they bid to swing themselves back into contention for the title this term.
