Jose Mourinho gives verdict on Man United ahead of Wolves clash
The Manchester United manager is pleased with the improvements that his team have made in recent weeks
Jose Mourinho is confident that Manchester United are improving ahead of their clash against Wolves on Saturday.
The Red Devils have managed to recover from a difficult start to the Premier League season to ease pressure on Jose Mourinho.
Manchester United suffered consecutive losses to Brighton and Tottenham Hotspur to lose ground in the title race after three games.
However, the 20-time English champions have notched up back to back victories over Burnley and Watford to build some momentum.
Manchester United ease to a resounding 3-0 win against Young Boys in their opening Champions League fixture in Switzerland on Wednesday night.
The Red Devils will face Wolves in a tricky Premier League assignment at Old Trafford this weekend given the promoted side’s start to life in the top flight.
Wolves are the only Premier League team to secure a positive result against defending champions Manchester City in the current campaign.
Speaking at his pre-match media conference ahead of their clash against Wolves on Saturday afternoon, Mourinho highlighted some improvements his team have made.
“I think the team as a team is resolving the defensive problems better than before,” Mourinho said.
“I don’t want to say it was Bailly or Jones, and it’s now Smalling or Lindelof. I think the team is more compact, is more solid, the spirit, the co-operation, the empathy, the communication, all of that improved in the team and good results bring confidence.
“I think we are improving as a team. I don’t want to say that our improvement has the name of Chris or Victor. The team is playing better and of course they are part of the team that played well in these matches.”
Manchester United signed FC Porto defender Diogo Dalot, Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred and Stoke City goalkeeper Lee Grant in the summer transfer window.
