Tottenham star rates his chances of being fit for Liverpool FC clash
Hugo Lloris could make his return to action for Tottenham Hotspur against Liverpool FC this weekend
Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris hasn’t ruled out a return to action against Liverpool FC in the Premier League on Saturday.
Lloris missed Tottenham’s last game against Watford after sustaining a thigh injury, with Michel Vorm drafted in to deputise in his absence during the 2-1 defeat at Vicarage Road.
Spurs had a 100 per cent record after the first three games of the season, securing wins against Newcastle United, Fulham and Manchester United, with the Frenchman ever present.
However, Mauricio Pochettino’s men seemed to struggle without their club captain against high flying Watford and now face a crunch match against Liverpool at Wembley on Saturday.
The 31-year-old believes he could make his return in the top of the table clash, but he is cautious about his chances of being fully fit in time for the weekend.
He told RMC Sport: “Do I have a return date? Not yet.
“We’re working hard to come back strong and as quickly as possible.
“There’s perhaps a chance for this weekend, but we’ll see depending on how things go this week.”
Lloris became a World Cup winner with France over the summer, starring in every match on their road to glory in Russia.
Spurs fans will hope that their number one returns to club duty ready to display the kind of form that has earned him a place among the top ‘keepers in European football, to help the team keep pace with the front-runners in the league.
