Spurs have endured a mixed start to the season following a run of three successive victories before three consecutive losses to heap pressure on Mauricio Pochettino.
Tottenham lost 3-1 to Watford in the Premier League at Vicarage Road to lose ground on their title rivals Chelsea FC, Liverpool FC and Manchester City.
Pochettino’s side welcomed title rivals Liverpool FC to Wembley in their first Premier League fixture after the international break.
Goals from Georginio Wijnaldum and Roberto Firmino sealed a comfortable 2-1 win over Spurs before Erik Lamela’s late consolation goal.
Spurs went on to surrender a 1-0 lead to lose 2-1 to Inter Milan at the San Siro in their opening Champions League fixture earlier this month.
The Lilywhites ended their losing run with a 2-1 win against Brighton and Hove Albion at Amex Stadium at the weekend.
Former Liverpool FC striker Owen believes Tottenham will play out a high-scoring game with Watford in the League Cup third round on Wednesday night.
“Spurs have won nine of their last ten home games against Watford although that reverse came in the League Cup back in 1994,” Owen told BetVictor.
“The Hornets have lost their last 9 away games against the “big six” and have conceded over three goals a game in those matches, but they have already beaten Spurs at Vicarage Road this season and will have been disappointed not to have won at Fulham on Saturday. They will give Spurs a real game at Wembley.”
Watford are in fourth place in the Premier League table following an impressive start to their top flight campaign.
