The 27-year-old midfielder has been adapting to life under new manager Unai Emery like the rest of his Arsenal team-mates in recent weeks as he gets used to life after Arsene Wenger.
Ramsey’s current contract at Arsenal is due to expire at the end of the season and he is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal.
That means that Arsenal run the risk of losing the Wales international on a free transfer next summer if he does not sign a new contract.
Now, Ramsey has revealed that he had all but agreed to sign a new contract with the Gunners, before the club opted to withdraw their offer, seemingly without any explanation.
Speaking in an interview quoted by the Evening Standard, Ramsey said: “Well, there is no contract on the table at the moment so there is nothing for me to consider.
“We all know that the contract was taken away off the table. I’m not sure exactly why because a few weeks before we sort of agreed and I was ready to sign.
“Something happened, I am not sure what. So, I just have to get my head down, work hard and help this team as much as I can. We’ll see where that takes me.
“Hopefully somebody will tell me why. I’ll accept that, if there’s a reason. At the moment, no, I haven’t [looked for answers].”
Ramsey will be hoping to feature for Arsenal when the Gunners take on Crystal Palace away from home on Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners have won all of their last seven games in the top flight after they had lost to both Chelsea FC and Manchester City in their opening two games of the new season.
Arsenal were also 1-0 winners over Sporting Lisbon in the Europa League on Thursday night.
