Arsenal trailed 1-0 at half-time after Luka Milivojevic’s penalty had put the hosts in front on the stroke of half-time.
The Gunners headed into the game looking to make it eight wins in a row in the Premier League, and they looked on course to do just that when Granit Xhaka fired home a free kick and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang added a second shortly after the restart.
However, Palace had the final say, with Milivojevic netting another penalty in the 83rd minute after Wilfried Zaha was adjudged to have been brought down by Xhaka in the box.
In the lead-up to the penalty incident, Arsenal were on a promising attack but Lucas Torreira failed to collect the ball from Lacazette’s lofted pass back.
And celebrity Arsenal fan Morgan appeared to point the finger at the French striker after Palace ended up being awarded a penalty.
Morgan tweeted after Palace equalised: “Oh Lacazette, what have you done??????”
Meanwhile, Arsenal legend Ian Wright reacted to the result with a simple two-word tweet, writing: “Great game.”
At his post-match news conference, manager Unai Emery was asked about Lacazette in the second half.
“We can’t do the mistakes on the pitch,” said Emery. “In the second half Lacazette was a bit less in his thinking, I was wanting him to find that.
“When we are in the box I want the players to take the responsibility to take the [decisive] action. When we were 2-2, I wanted to push [for the win].”
Arsenal will return to action with a home League Cup clash against Blackpool on Wednesday night.
