Chelsea FC shouldn’t keep Eden Hazard at Stamford Bridge against his will, according to former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon.

The Blues forward has made a scintillating start to the Premier League season under Antonio Conte’s replacement Maurizio Sarri despite his participation in the World Cup in the summer.

Indeed, Hazard hasn’t struggled with fatigue despite the Chelsea FC forward helping Belgium to reach the World Cup semi-finals before losing to eventual winners France.

The 27-year-old has already scored seven goals in eight Premier League games this season to lay down a marker in the early months of the season and transform Chelsea FC into title challengers.

Hazard was linked with a move to Real Madrid in the summer but a deal failed to materialise despite Cristiano Ronaldo moving to Serie A champions Juventus from los Blancos in August.

The Belgian forward has made no secret of his affection for Real Madrid and Hazard was thought to have attracted interest from Zinedine Zidane before the French legend stood down as manager in May.

Unsurprisingly, Hazard’s form has resulted in a fresh speculation linking the Chelsea FC number 10 with a big-money move to the Champions League holders.

Former Real Madrid president Calderon, who was responsible for signing Arjen Robben, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Fabio Cannavaro during his reign, believes Chelsea FC shouldn’t force Hazard to remain at Stamford Bridge.

“There is no point having a player with you if he doesn’t want (to be there),” Calderon told beIN SPORTS, as quoted by the Daily Express.

“Slavery was abolished a long time ago.”

Chelsea FC were 3-0 winners against Southampton in their last Premier League game before the international break after Hazard broke the deadlock on the south coast.

The Blues will welcome Manchester United in their next Premier League fixture at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon in pursuit of a seventh top-flight victory this season.

Chelsea FC have dropped points in stalemates with West Ham United and Liverpool FC in the current campaign.
