Ian Wright took to social media to salute Lucas Torreira after Arsenal claimed a thrilling 5-1 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday lunchtime.

The Gunners notched up their sixth straight win in a row in the Premier League as they thrashed the Cottagers to move up into fourth place in the table.

Torreira played the full 90 minutes as he started his third Premier League game of the season since his move to The Emirates from Sampdoria in the summer transfer window.

Two goals from Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang added to Aaron Ramsey’s strike to help Unai Emery’s men stretch their impressive run in the top flight.

Torreira has been earning lots of praise for his solid performances for the Gunners since his move to The Emirates in the summer.

And Arsenal legend Wright is clearly a fan of what he has been seeing from the Uruguay international since his switch.

After the final whistle on Sunday, Wright wrote on his official Twitter account: “Torreira oh oh oh, Torreira oh oh oh, he comes from Uruguay, he’s only five foot high” 😂😂😂”

Meanwhile, celebrity Arsenal fan Piers Morgan also took to the social network to congratulate new Gunners boss Emery on the impact that he’s had at the north London club.

Morgan wrote on Twitter: “Be careful what you wish for…. Arsenal winning 5-1 away, our 9th consecutive victory. Life after Wenger is turning out to be exactly what I wished for. Congrats @UnaiEmery_ #afc”

Arsenal head into the international break in fine form and will return to Premier League action on 22 October when they take on Leicester City at The Emirates.

The north London side will have their sights set on finishing in the top four this season after they ended up in sixth place in the Premier League table last term to miss out on Champions League qualification for the second campaign running.

Emery was swiftly brought in as Arsene Wenger’s replacement back in May after the Frenchman opted to stand down at the end of last season.
