Former Spurs midfielder Jenas heaped praise on Sturridge for his moment of magic at Stamford Bridge last weekend.
“It’s exactly what he’s capable of,” Jenas told BT Sport. “It’s pure genius.
“You can feel sorry for Chelsea because there’s nothing you can do about it.
“If you’re going to be ultra critical, you ask if Kante can get a bit closer.”
Sturridge has now scored 50 goals in 103 games in the Premier League for Liverpool FC.
The Reds signed Sturridge in a £12m deal from Chelsea FC in the 2013 January transfer window.
Liverpool FC brought in four new faces in the summer transfer window to bolster Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
The Merseyside outfit signed Monaco star Fabinho, RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita, Stoke playmaker Xherdan Shaqiri and AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker.
