The Merseyside outfit headed into the game looking to keep pace with Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table, with the Reds having drawn their last two games in the top flight.
Mohamed Salah ended up proving to be the difference for Jurgen Klopp’s men, as the Egypt international netted a cool low finish in the 24th minute.
The goal was a welcome one for the 26-year-old, who had gone without scoring or registering an assist since he netted in the 3-0 win over Southampton back on 22 September.
As the wife of the club’s owner, Linda Pizzuti Henry keeps a close eye on Liverpool FC’s fortunes.
And she was quick to take to social media after the game to salute a hard-fought three points for the Merseyside outfit.
She posted on Twitter shortly after the final whistle: “Well, three points away is what we needed to be level in points at the top of the table. More dramatic than expected, but a win #lfc.”
No matter the manner of the win, the victory still lifted Liverpool FC back into second place in the Premier League table and level on points with leaders Manchester City.
However, Pep Guardiola’s leaders have an incredible goal difference of +23 already this season, which is 10 ahead of Liverpool FC.
Liverpool FC will now turn their focus back towards Champions League affairs and their home clash against Red Star Belgrade on Wednesday night in the group stage.
