Liverpool FC are in third place in the Premier League table and level on points with title rivals Manchester City and Chelsea FC in what promises to be a competitive title race.
The Merseyside outfit were held to a 1-1 draw with Chelsea FC at Stamford Bridge before a goalless draw with the defending Premier League champions at Anfield in their last two outings.
Jurgen Klopp suffered a number of blows during the international break after Sadio Mane, Naby Keita, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk all picked up problems while on duty with their national teams.
However, Salah and Van Dijk took part in Liverpool FC’s training session at Melwood on Thursday to indicate that the key pair should be available for selection at John Smith’s Stadium.
Liverpool FC will face a Huddersfield team that have failed to win their last 12 games and the Terriers have drawn three games and lost nine times.
Former Irish defender Lawrenson is confident Liverpool FC will ease to a 2-0 win against Huddersfield in Saturday’s late kick-off.
“Huddersfield put in a really good performance in their draw at Burnley in their last game, and could well have taken all three points,” Lawrenson told BBC Sport.
“But I don’t see them causing Liverpool too many problems, even at home, and the Reds will be confident of creating enough chances of their own to win.”
Liverpool FC are looking to end a four-game winless run after the Reds lost 2-1 to Chelsea FC in the League Cup before the Merseyside outfit suffered a 1-0 defeat by Napoli in the Champions League.
Worryingly for Klopp and Reds fans, Liverpool FC have failed to win their last six games against teams in the relegation zone to highlight their struggles when it comes to breaking teams down.
However, the Merseyside outfit haven’t faced a team in the relegation zone this term, having won their opening six Premier League games before their draws with Chelsea FC and Manchester City.
Liverpool FC have finished in fourth spot in their last two Premier League seasons.
