Manchester United slumped to their third Premier League defeat in seven games on Saturday when they were beaten 3-1 by West Ham United at the London Stadium.
That result left the Red Devils down in 10th place in the Premier League table and nine points behind leaders Manchester City at this early stage of the new campaign.
Manchester United had been hoping to challenge for honours on all fronts this season, but the Red Devils were also knocked out of the League Cup by lower-league Derby County last week.
The pressure has been mounting on Mourinho in recent days, and former Liverpool FC star Carragher feels that it is clear that the Portuguese coach no longer has the support of his players at Old Trafford.
Speaking to Sky Sports on Monday, Carragher said: “I have no doubt, from his comments today in his press conference when he said some players are trying harder than others, that he’s lost the dressing room.
“That’s not rocket science, I don’t even think that’s that controversial a thing to say.”
Manchester United will aim to get back to winning ways in the Premier League when they host Newcastle United in the top flight on Saturday evening.
The Red Devils ended up in second place in the Premier League table and without a trophy last season – and they have not won the title since 2013.
