The Red Devils have been struggling to produce consistent performances on the pitch, while reports in the British media suggest Pogba and Jose Mourinho have fallen out.
The Manchester United manager stripped Pogba of the vice captaincy last week after the France international criticised the Red Devils’ tactics after a 1-1 draw with Wolves.
The pair were caught on camera in a heated debate at Carrington training ground in the immediate aftermath of their loss to Championship side Derby County in the Carabao Cup.
Mourinho signed Pogba in a club record £89m deal from Serie A giants Juventus in 2016 after Ferguson had sold the World Cup winner to the Italian champions in 2012.
Former Manchester United midfielder Ince explained how Ferguson would have handled the Pogba situation.
“There’s absolutely no chance this would have happened under Ferguson,” Ince told Paddy Power.
“He’d have had the situation dealt with weeks, even months ago. There’s no way that Man United can compete with Liverpool or Man City, or even win trophies, when they’ve got situations like this happening in the club.
“I can tell you what Fergie would’ve done, too. There’d have been a complete ban on Pogba speaking to all media. Because it’s obvious that he’s been feeding off the attention he’s been getting and that’s made it even worse.
“There’s not a chance in hell that he’d have allowed Pogba to speak to the press after that bad result against Wolves last week.
“Anything he does now is a media circus.”
Manchester United suffered a 3-1 loss to West Ham United at the London Stadium on Saturday afternoon to leave the Red Devils in tenth place in the table.
The 20-time English champions have lost to Brighton, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham in the Premier League so far this season.
