Jamie Carragher has labelled Manchester United’s recent performances as “a disgrace” after their stuttering start to the new season under Jose Mourinho.

The Red Devils slumped to their third Premier League defeat of the season on Saturday when they were beaten 3-1 by West Ham United at the London Stadium.

Manchester United have failed to click into gear under Mourinho this season and they find themselves down in 10th place in the Premier League table and nine points off top spot.

Mourinho had been hoping to be planning to guide his team to a Premier League title challenge as they look to try and win the top flight trophy this term.

But their poor form so far this term has left them with it all to do in the race for the top-flight trophy this term.

Manchester United were also dumped out of the League Cup at the hands of Derby County last weekend – and Carragher has admitted the the Red Devils’ latest performances have left a lot to be desired.

Speaking to Sky Sports on Monday, Carragher said: ” The last two Manchester United games I’ve seen live, in midweek in the Carabao Cup and what I saw at the weekend against West Ham, the performances were not far away from a disgrace.

“What I saw at the weekend, every team will have a game like that this season, maybe two where your character and commitment get questioned.

“However, it might only happen once or twice a season. We’ve seen this now three or four times in 10 games under Jose Mourinho – and that’s the worrying thing.”

Manchester United will aim to get back to winning ways in the Premier League when they take on Newcastle United at Old Trafford next weekend.
