The Red Devils slumped to their third defeat of the Premier League season on Saturday lunchtime when they were beaten 3-1 by Manuel Pellegrini’s side at the London Stadium.
It has been a difficult start to the new campaign for Mourinho’s men, with the Red Devils currently down in 10th place in the table and already nine points behind joint leaders Manchester City and Liverpool FC.
Manchester United will now quickly turn their attentions towards their Champions League showdown against Valencia at Old Trafford on Tuesday night as they bid to try and get back to winning ways.
And Mourinho has insisted that he is relishing the chance for his side to respond to the disappointing result this week.
Speaking at his post-match news conference, Mourinho said: “For myself, speaking of my own feelings, I am really happy that we have a game on Tuesday.
“I am really happy that I now go to the train and I start immediately thinking about training tomorrow, about the match on Tuesday and I prefer that than playing next Sunday, with one week of these bad feelings.
“I look forward to that match on Tuesday and I hope the majority of the players have this same kind of mentality, and that they are looking forward to Tuesday.”
Manchester United were also dumped out of the League Cup last week when they suffered a penalty shootout defeat by Derby County in the third round in front of their home fans at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils have not won the Premier League title since 2013.
