Charlie Nicholas is tipping Liverpool FC and Napoli to play out a 1-1 draw in the Champions League clash in Italy on Wednesday night.

The Reds head into the game looking to continue their 100 per cent record in the competition after having sealed an impressive 3-2 win over PSG at Anfield in their first outing last month.

Jurgen Klopp’s men have been in fine form so far this season and they are currently level on points with Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.

Liverpool FC came from a goal down to earn a 1-1 draw against Chelsea FC at Stamford Bridge on Saturday night as they continued their strong start to the new campaign.

And former Arsenal man Nicholas is tipping the Reds to be able to play out a 1-1 draw with the Serie A side when they do battle in Italy on Wednesday night.

Nicholas told Sky Sports: “Napoli will be aware of Liverpool’s counter-attack. We saw at the weekend Liverpool being unable to control the match at Chelsea like they’ve done in previous weeks and that will give Napoli heart and lessons to use.

“Napoli will play with caution. We know how Italian teams play, they will take their time and not force the match.

“So I reckon a draw – and that will be a good result for Liverpool.”

Liverpool FC are aiming to go one better than they did last season this time around, after they reached the Champions League final last term but ended up losing to Real Madrid in the showpiece.

The Reds are still looking to win their first major trophy since Klopp’s appointment at Anfield back in October 2015.
