Arsenal interested in deal to sign 21-year-old Serie A star – report
Arsenal are plotting a swoop to sign AS Roma playmaker Cengiz Under, according to a report
Arsenal are interested in a potential deal to sign AS Roma playmaker Cengiz Under, according to a report.
Respected website Bleacher Report, as quoted by The Sun, is reporting that Under has emerged as a target for Arsenal ahead of the January transfer window.
The same article states that Arsenal have dispatched scouts to watch the Turkey international as the Gunners look to strengthen their options in wide areas.
While Arsenal are being tipped to make an approach for the exciting 21-year-old, the story goes on to suggest that AS Roma will only sell their talented winger if the Serie A side receive an astronomical offer.
Under is a player in demand and the Bleacher Report article claims that Premier League champions Manchester City and Arsenal’s north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in the Turkish starlet.
The AS Roma star has scored one goal and has made three assists in 11 games in Serie A this season, to help the Rome outfit to challenge the top five.
The 5ft 8ins playmaker moved to AS Roma from Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir in the 2017 summer transfer window, having netted seven times in 32 games in Super Lig.
Arsenal suffered a blow earlier this month when England international Danny Welbeck broke his ankle in a 0-0 draw with Sporting Lisbon in the Europa League at The Emirates.
