Mark Lawrenson believes Chelsea FC will ease to a comfortable 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

The Blues have made an impressive start to the season under Antonio Conte’s replacement Maurizio Sarri to keep pace with Liverpool FC and Manchester City.

Chelsea FC were 4-0 winners against Burnley at Turf Moor last weekend after goals from Ross Barkley, Willian, Alvaro Morata and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

The west London side have won seven times and have drawn three games to secure 24 points from their opening 10 games in the Premier League.

Sarri’s men have won all five of their cup games in the Europa League and the League Cup to barely put a foot wrong under the former Napoli manager.

Crystal Palace brought Arsenal’s seven-game winning run to an end last weekend after Unai Emery’s side were held to a 2-2 draw at Selhurst Park.

Roy Hodgson’s side have failed to win their last five Premier League games to leave the Eagles hovering about the relegation zone.

Former Liverpool FC defender Lawrenson is backing Chelsea FC to edge to a 2-0 win against Palace at Stamford Bridge on Sunday evening.

“Crystal Palace are another team struggling for goals – they got two penalties against Arsenal last week but have a total of seven goals from their first 10 matches,” Lawrenson told BBC Sport.

“The Eagles’ attack relies heavily on Wilfried Zaha, and if he does not produce some magic then they look short of ideas.

“Chelsea, in contrast, are on a roll. Even without Eden Hazard they looked a class apart from Burnley last weekend, and were convincing winners.

“Blues boss Maurizio Sarri has got a talented squad and happy camp – they are playing well, winning and enjoying themselves, and I think that will continue on Sunday.”

Chelsea FC haven’t won the Premier League title since 2016-17 when Conte led the Blues to title glory in his first season in charge of the west London side.

The current Blues manager will presumably target the Carabao Cup or the Europa League as competitions that Chelsea FC can win in the current campaign.

The Blues will make the trip to BATE Borisov in their next Europa League fixture on Thursday 8 November.

Chelsea FC signed Croatia international Mateo Kovacic, Napoli star Jorginho, veteran England goalkeeper Rob Green and Athletic Bilbao shot stopper Kepa Arrizabalaga in the 2018 summer transfer window.

Sarri has left his mark on the Blues squad and has already managed to get the best out of players such as Ross Barkley and Eden Hazard.
