Paul Merson is tipping Chelsea FC to ease to a resounding 3-0 win over Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

The Blues will be hoping to secure their eighth win of the Premier League season to keep pace with leaders Manchester City and Liverpool FC.

Maurizio Sarri’s side have managed to avoid defeat in their opening 10 games despite the Italian head coach having limited time to work with the players in the summer.

Chelsea FC produced an emphatic performance in a 4-0 win over Burnley at Turf Moor last weekend in the absence of Eden Hazard to underline their progress.

Ross Barkley stepped up the mark in the absence of Hazard and the England international scored one goal and made two assists in the 4-0 victory over Sean Dyche’s men.

Crystal Palace came from behind to hold Chelsea FC’s top-four rivals Arsenal to a 2-2 draw at Selhurst Park last weekend.

Former Arsenal midfielder Merson doesn’t expect Chelsea FC to have any problems dispatching Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge in Sunday’s late kick-off.

“I thought Palace did well against Arsenal, but Chelsea are in a different league,” Merson told Sky Sports. “They’ll be too good, too strong for Palace at the Bridge.

“Chelsea are playing well – they’re not the finished article but you can see smatterings of brilliance and the way Maurizio Sarri wants them to play. He’s getting the best out of certain players.

“I’m going for a Chelsea win, and for all three top teams to stay unbeaten still, which is unbelievable.”

Sarri was named as Antonio Conte’s replacement in July despite his compatriot being linked with an exit throughout the second half of the Premier League season.

The former Napoli manager rushed to get deals for Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic, Rob Green and Kepa Arrizabalaga over the line in the 2018 summer transfer window.

Sarri has already managed to get the best out of Barkley and Hazard this season, while Alvaro Morata is back amongst the goals following a difficult spell.

Chelsea FC were 3-2 winners against Championship side Derby County in the League Cup fourth round at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night to maintain their unbeaten start to the campaign.
