The Blues will be looking to extend their unbeaten run to 12 games in the Premier League this weekend when the Toffees make the long trip to west London.
Chelsea FC have won their last two Premier League games to hoist themselves up to second place in the table after a 4-0 win at Burnley before a 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace.
Maurizio Sarri’s men have the chance to temporarily hoist themselves above Premier League leaders Manchester City on Sunday ahead of the Manchester derby at The Etihad in the day’s late kick-off.
However, Everton should provide a sterner test than Burnley and Crystal Palace given that Marco Silva’s men have won three of their last four outings in the Premier League.
Indeed, the only blemish on the Merseyside outfit’s record in the past month or so was a 2-1 loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Former Liverpool FC striker Owen is backing Chelsea FC to beat Everton at Stamford Bridge to extend their unbeaten start to the Premier League season to 12 games.
“Everton have not won at Stamford Bridge since November 1994 and have not enjoyed their recent visits to the capital losing their last four,” Owen told BetVictor.
“I’m looking forward to seeing the competitive debut of Colombian centre-back Yerry Mina for Marco Silva’s side with Kurt Zouma ineligible against his parent club.”
Owen added: “Chelsea are in Europa League action in Belarus on Thursday, but they have coped admirably with their Thursday-Sunday routine so far this season and they have the strength in depth to keep the points from what promises to be an entertaining clash.”
Chelsea FC have only dropped points in stalemates with West Ham United, Liverpool FC and Manchester United in the Premier League this season.
The Blues opted to change management in the summer after Sarri took over the reins of the club from Antonio Conte following disappointing end to the campaign.
Chelsea FC signed Napoli midfielder Jorginho, Real Madrid playmaker Mateo Kovacic, Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga and veteran English shot stopper Rob Green.
The Italian star has settled into the Chelsea FC team since his move to Stamford Bridge, becoming Sarri’s leader in the Blues starting line up.
